Under the guidance of its wise leadership, the UAE has successfully created a supportive environment to empower women and enhance their role in all business and social sectors in society.
Indeed, Emirati women have achieved a remarkable presence and have strengthened their pivotal role in the sustainable development journey of the country. They have become a model to follow for performing their duties at the highest levels of efficiency and have demonstrated their exceptional ability to take responsibility towards their nation and community.
In recent years, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has succeeded in forming a highly efficient and professional team, with women, especially Emirati women, having an active and significant presence and impact.
Today, they continue to play a central role in the continuous success and development of the business sector, across all verticals industry segments. For its part, the Authority has recruited a distinguished group of female employees across various specialties and at all organisational levels.
Furthermore, as part of its comprehensive strategy for managing and developing human capital, the FTA is committed to increasing reliance on national tax personnel who possess high levels of awareness and the ability to continuously develop professionally.
This is achieved by motiVATing and encouraging Emiratis to work in this vital and strategic sector, which has positively impacted the increase in Emiratisation rates within the Authority. In fact, Emirati women now form a significant proportion of the workforce at the FTA, and particularly in key leadership roles.
Through this strategy, the Authority has maintained its commitment to achieving gender balance within its organisational structure, with women making up 44% of the total workforce. Indeed, Emirati women hold various key roles at the FTA, with 45% of employees in specialized positions being female UAE nationals.
The proportion in the tax sector, within the Authority, is 44.7%, and Emirati women competently hold more than 29% of leadership positions in decision-making roles. In terms of academic qualifications, Emirati women represent more than 45% of all employees holding university degrees or higher.
Given the successes achieved and the important role that Emirati women play in all fields, we are fully confident that the female workforce will continue to contribute more to building an even more distinguished and promising future for the tax system.
