The Role of Technology in Combating Tax Evasion (Community Opinions and Suggestions)

Tuesday, February 10,2026

Topic: The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) in the United Arab Emirates plays a pivotal role in adopting modern technologies to combat tax evasion and promote tax compliance. Through systems such as e-invoicing, smart data analytics, and the "Raqib" electronic platform for reporting violations and tax evasion-which was developed to receive and process reports related to non-compliant individuals or entities-the FTA aims to enhance transparency and efficiently track financial transactions. The Authority also utilizes technologies like artificial intelligence to monitor tax operations and detect irregular patterns, contributing to the development of a fair and sustainable tax system that supports the national economy.

Objective: This consultation aims to enhance transparency and trust by raising public awareness of the FTA's efforts in using modern technologies to ensure transparency in tax operations. It also opens the door for dialogue with individuals and businesses to gather feedback and suggestions on how to improve tax technologies and strengthen compliance.

Expected Outcomes and Decisions: Adopting additional technology projects such as advanced AI systems and developing more user-friendly electronic platforms to facilitate the compliance process.
