The National Programme for Qualifying UAE Nationals Tax Agents
About the Programme
The UAE National Tax Agent Programme is a national effort and one of the national initiatives to support entrepreneurship, aimed at developing qualified UAE national professionals in the field of taxation. It includes comprehensive tax training delivered in both Arabic and English, designed in collaboration with academic institutions and under the supervision of the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).
Programme Objectives
- 500 Emirati nationals to obtain tax diplomas, over the next three years.
- Establishing a network of UAE National tax agents to support both the public and priVATe sectors.
- Raising tax awareness and developing specialised local expertise.
Required Documents
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in tax, accounting or law from a recognised educational institution; or a tax certification from an internationally known tax institution if the Bachelor's degree is in any other field.
- Recent professional experience of at least three years in either tax, accounting or law.
- Language proficiency document for both Arabic and English, written and spoken.
- Certificate of good conduct.
- Certificate of medical fitness
- Medical report proving that the person is medically fit to perform their duties as a tax agent
- Copy of the passport/Emirati ID
Training Programmes
The Government of the United Arab Emirates covers the fees required for the diploma offered by specialized and accredited academies.
Value Added Tax (VAT) Diploma
Training duration: 6 days
Covers the fundamentals of applying Value Added Tax (VAT), including registration procedures, tax calculation, preparing returns, and meeting tax compliance requirements.
Corporate Tax Diploma
Training duration: 11 days
Focuses on the principles of corporate taxation, rules for profit calculation, exemptions and special cases, and corporate tax compliance requirements.
Fees
Tax Agent Registration Fee: AED 3,000 (registration and renewal every three years).
